LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting and robbing a woman after ramming into her vehicle with a stolen car.

According to the arrest report, it happened June 27 near National Turnpike and South Park Road. The victim told police she was trying to turn onto South Park Road from National Turnpike when the suspect, 38-year-old Michael Sowder, crashed into her.

After the collision, Sowder allegedly approached the victim's vehicle, reached inside the window and began choking her with a gun as he put the car in "Park." Police say the victim fought with Sowder before he allegedly took her to a wooded area and threatened to kill her if she called police or sought medical treatment.

That's when police say he left with the victim's car.

Sowder was arrested the next day in the car he allegedly used to ram the victim's car before robbing her. Police say that car had been reported stolen as well. He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $10,000 cash bond.
