POLICE: Employee at Louisville hotel stole cash, gun from room

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man authorities say stole money and a gun from a hotel, while working as an employee.

Austin Ratliff, 21, was arrested on Thursday.

Police say Ratliff was an employee at the WoodSprings Suites Louisville Southeast Hotel, located at 10400 Brookridge Village Blvd. Authorities say he entered a room on Wednesday and stole $2,300, a .45 Caliber semi-automatic handgun, a laptop computer and a backpack.

Officials say Ratliff was seen entering and exiting the room. Investigators say he left the room wearing the stolen backpack.

According to police, Ratliff was recorded on video.

Ratliff is charged with first-degree burglary.
