LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Omni Louisville hotel has reached a milestone.
A topping-off ceremony complete with "bourbon baptism" was held on Friday, as construction crews began working on the 30th floor. With construction ahead of schedule, officials revealed that the hotel will open a month early in March 2018. Mayor Greg Fischer and other dignitaries showed off spectacular views from what will be Louisville's tallest hotel. They also gave a preview of a rooftop pool, ballroom and other amenities.
The hotel won't open for another eight months, but it has already booked 82,000 room nights through 2023.
The Omni Louisville will open just before the remodeled convention center opens. It will include 225 luxury apartments available for rent and more than 600 guest rooms.
There will also be a speakeasy with bowling lanes, restaurants including Bob's Steak and Chop House, an urban lifestyle market and 70,000 square feet of convention space.
