LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville City got the quick start it wanted against FC Cincinnati. Problem is, not much else went their way.
The Boys in Purple remained winless in three tries against their biggest rivals losing 3-2 Saturday night in front of over 10-thousand fans at Louisville Slugger Field.
After scoring in the 8th minute, Louisville gave up 3 straight goals to Cincinnati including two in the second half.
Harrison Delbridge scored the go ahead goal for Cincy in the 54th minute from a header off a corner kick. Just over twenty minutes later, another score came from Danni Konig whose goal made it 3-1.
Louisville scored on an own goal in the 93rd minute but it was too little too late. The Boys in Purple dropped to 0-2-1 this year against Cincy.
The two teams will play at least one more time this year. Their final regular season matchup is set for August 12th at Louisville Slugger Field.
