LMPD: New Albany woman admits to slashing man across stomach
According to an arrest report, the suspect told police the victim had taken her vehicle for several hours.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a New Albany woman authorities say slashed a victim across his stomach.
Starr Liddick, 33, was arrested Friday in the 400 block of North 29th Street, near Griffiths Avenue, which is located in the Portland neighborhood.
According to an arrest report, Liddick told police the victim had taken her vehicle for several hours.
Authorities say Liddick began walking around the neighborhood, and spotted her car, where the victim had been sleeping.
Police say Liddick stated the door was open and she then "put her hands on him."
Officials say the victim tried to defend himself when Liddick pulled out a box cutter style knife and slashed the victim across the stomach, causing a laceration of about 12 inches.
The arrest report states that Liddick admitted to the crime in a recorded statement.
Liddick is charged with first-degree assault.
She is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $5,000 cash bond.
