LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have released the name of a 2-year-old girl who drowned in a west Louisville pool.

The child was Lailoni Lee, according to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner J. David Wood.

Officers were called to a home on Saunders Court in the California neighborhood around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. After a short search, they found the child floating in a pool at a nearby home on South 23rd Street. Police found the girl in one of three un-fenced pools behind the home.

Officers began CPR until EMS arrived. The girl was transported to Norton Children's Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The man who owns the pools declined to comment on what happened.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the death.
