JCPS Mobile Registration Bus begins month-long tour

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The JCPS mobile registration bus began its tour of Louisville on Monday, making school registration easier for parents.

The bus is equipped with laptops and internet access to help parents register their child.

Incoming kindergartners, students who are new to JCPS and those who have changed their address should register. Parents just need to show proof they live in Jefferson County.

"The sooner the parents have all the information they need about where their child is going to school, what the bus stop information is going to be, that makes the first day easier for students, and that makes learning start much quicker," said Barbara Dempsey, Director of Student Assignment for JCPS.

The bus will make 16 stops over the next four weeks. The first day of school for JCPS is Aug. 16.
