Family of Floyd County 911 dispatcher loses everything in New Albany fire

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WDRB) -- A fire in New Albany on Monday night damaged two homes, including the home of a Floyd County dispatchers. 

The fire broke out about 7 p.m. on East Eighth Street. No one was  hurt, but the flames spread from one house to the house next door where a Floyd County dispatcher lives. 

The Angela Hackworth and Melvin Howell lost their home as well as everything inside. They have two young boys, Melvin age 13 and Mason will be turning 7 on Thursday.  

A co-worker set up a GoFundMe page to help the family.  She says the family could very much use some prayers and donations to help replace the smallest of necessities and allow them to find another home.
