Charity polo match benefits local children in need

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The 15th Annual Virgil Christian Tribute Polo Match hosted by the Boland Family happens on Saturday, July 22.

For more than 15 years, Jim Boland and the Boland family have hosted the fun, casual and family friendly event. It includes food trucks, live music, and a kids area with bouncy houses and sno-cones.

The event benefits Maryhurst for the second year. Last year's polo match helped Maryhurst provide supplemental education for two children for one year, provide health and wellness activities for 90 children, provide 10 weeks of care for one child and provide meals for an entire cottage for five months.

For 174 years, Maryhurst has cared for abused and neglected children, making it the state's oldest behavioral health services organization.
