Jennifer Lawrence gets sick in audience at Broadway play
The Louisville native was just in town for several events to benefit the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Actress Jennifer Lawrence was too sick to make it through a Broadway show on Monday night.
The Louisville native was in New York to see the current version of George Orwell's "1984." But she got up in the middle of the show to rush out of the theater. Page Six reports several witnesses saw her be sick in the lobby.
The production of "1984" has been criticized for graphic torture scenes. Many audience members have reported feeling sick and faint. But a friend of Lawrence told the newspaper that she caught the stomach flu from her nephews.
The 26-year-old was in Louisville over the weekend for several events in support of her Jennifer Lawrence Foundation. She is known to spend time with her close-knit family, when she is in town.
