LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Witnesses said they heard a loud explosion before flames erupted from a home near Seneca Park on Thursday afternoon.

It was reported shortly before 3 p.m. at a home in the 1000 block of Alta Vista Road just south of I-64 near Seneca Park.

Louisville Fire & Rescue arrived on the scene, and extra personnel were called to work the fire. It took firefighters about 45 minutes to get it under control.

The homeowners were not home, but two women cleaning the house were inside at the time. No one was injured.

Firefighters believe it was accidental, but arson investigators were on scene to check it out.
