LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Seymour, Indiana, man is in jail after police say his 67-year-old mother was brought to the hospital with signs of abuse -- and police say when they went to his home, they made more troubling discoveries.
According to Seymour Police, 40-year-old Brian Lee Ault lived with his 67-year-old mother at a home in the 600 block of Noble Street, near S. Obrien Street, in Seymour.
On June 24, Ault's mother was taken to the hospital. While there, police say hospital staff determined that she showed signs of neglect, including dehydration and malnutrition. Police were then notified.
Seymour Police say that when they visited the home, they discovered that the room Ault's mother had been sleeping in was infested with bedbugs, had improper bedding and was soaked with urine.
Ault was arrested by Seymour Police and booked into the Jackson County Detention Center, charged with neglect of a dependent.
His mother has been relocated to a nursing home.
