LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Helping young people grow old.

That was the goal of Friday's Youth Summit on violence at the Old Walnut Street Family Strengthening Center.

Kids ages 11 to 18 asked questions about and offered up solutions to violent crime in the city.

It also focused on ways to improve conditions and issues at home and at school, like bullying and peer pressure.

The event also featured a social hour with food and music.

The Youth Summit was planned by area kids who took part in the Mayor's Summer Works Programs.
