LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Nelson County School Board has named an acting superintendent just days after Superintendent Anthony Orr announced his resignation.

Tom Brown will work as acting superintendent effective August 1.

Brown has worked as an assistant principal, guidance counselor, and teacher at Nelson County High School, and served in several other districts in Kentucky.

Orr handed in his resignation letter on Thursday. He will now serve as the district's Director of Process, Research and Improvement.

Board members say the search is on for a permanent superintendent.
