Heaven Hill makes $165 million for Irish liqueur brands

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Heaven Hill is going Irish. 

Heaven Hill Brands is acquiring Carolan's Irish Cream Liqueur and Irish Mist Liqueur for $165 million dollars.

Carolan's is the second-largest selling Irish cream whiskey liqueur world-wide. Irish Mist was the first liqueur produced in Ireland. It's a blend of Irish whiskey, honey and spices.

The sale is expected to close on August 1st.

The company acquired Deep Eddy Vodka two years ago, and its current brand lineup includes Burnett's Vodkas and Gin, Admiral Nelson's and Blackheart Rums, HPNOTIQ Liqueur, Christian Brothers Brandies, PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur, Lunazul Tequila and Rittenhouse Rye Whisky. 

The Bardstown, Kentucky-based bourbon company was founded in 1935.  Heaven Hill Brands is America's largest independent, family-owned and operated spirits producer and marketer.  Signature brands include Evan Williams Bourbon; Larceny, Elijah Craig and Henry McKenna Bourbons.
