Man arrested after 10 immigrants die in semi truck reportedly has Louisville ties

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman said she doesn't believe her fiance could knowingly endanger more than 100 people packed in a semi truck.

James Bradley Jr. is accused of driving a tractor trailer packed with illegal immigrants. Ten died in the back of the trailer because of the intense heat in San Antonio, Texas.

The San Antonio Express News reports Bradley's last known address was in Louisville, although federal agents say he is from Clearwater, Florida.

He's accused of federal human smuggling, which carries the possibility of the death penalty.

Darnisha Rose, who says she's Bradley's fiance, told  the Associated Press that when she talked with Bradley, he said he didn't know the truck was filled with that many people.
