LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Radcliff woman has been arrested after police say she admitted to swinging her 3-year-old great nephew "too hard," an act that ended with a leg injury.

According to an arrest report, it happened just after 10 p.m. on Monday at a home in the 100 block of Daniel Court, near the intersection of Rogersville Road and S. Logsdon Parkway.

Radcliff Police say 33-year-old Meghan Freeman told them she became frustrated after her great nephew failed to listen and "clean up a mess he helped to create." In order to discipline him, she told him he would be placed in "time out."

Police say she then picked him up "in a swinging motion" and lost her grip. This likely contributed to the boy sustaining a leg injury, according to the arrest report.

Her husband allegedly told officers that Freeman admitted that she may have "placed him down too hard." Police say she later told them that she was frustrated and angry, and did "swing him too hard."

She was arrested Monday night and charged with second-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12. Freeman is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
