CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) - Wednesday, July 26 is the first day of school for Clarksville Community Schools.

Classes start about 8 a.m. for students in kindergarten thru 12th grade.

It's also the first day for new superintendent Tina Bennett. She has previously been a school principal, teacher and guidance counselor at Clarksville High School.

New this school year, Clarksville Middle School will implement a “house” system for students. Students will be “sorted” into community groups on the first day of school. It will provide students with a core group of peers for the year, as well a faculty member as their house leader. The sorting process will take place in the gymnasium, with all faculty and students in attendance.
