LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- On St. James Court, there is one house that stands out because of its color. The "Pink Palace" is on the market for $735,000.

When you step inside the 5,200-square-foot house, it's like stepping back into the Victorian era. There are beautiful chandeliers, original woodwork and trim.

The house has only been on the market for a few weeks, and realtor Sandy Phillips with Kentucky Select Properties has already had several showings with serious local buyers.

"St. James Court is one of the very special places in Louisville," she said. "You feel like you're in England. It's Britain here.

S"You have this nice long-range view of the house. This is a very special feature. We don't have a lot of houses with turrets in Louisville."

Built in the 1890s, the house has six bedrooms,  four bathrooms and an interesting history.

"Fireplaces in the dining room and fireplaces in the living room and stained glass windows are really lovely," Phillips said. " The house was built as a gentleman's club, so it doesn't have the biggest kitchen in the world, but it's functional."

The current owners have decorated the kitchen with pink pots and pans and kitchenware.

After the gentleman's club, some women moved in.

"The woman's temperance unit group bought the house, and they painted it pink," Phillips said. "It's been pink on and off forever."

The current owners no longer need this much room and decided to sell it. It could be haunted too, but with a friendly ghost named "Avery."

"Apparently, he has appeared, and he is a ghost that warns people of something that is going to happen, something dangerous," Phillips said. "If he appears, people are to take him seriously."

Outside, you'll find a garden and pool. Phillips said the house is perfect for entertaining.
