NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WDRB) - New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation heads back to school on Thursday, July 27.

Nearly 12,000 students will start the 2017-2018 school year. The corporation includes 1 early learning center, 9 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 2 high schools, 1 vocational center, and 1 adult center.

High schools begin at 7:40 a.m., middle schools begin at 9:00 a.m. and elementary schools begin at 8:00 a.m.

Along with the thousands of students heading back, almost 700 teachers return for another year. 113 buses will transport nearly 8,000 students.
