Woman arrested after allegedly stealing signs related to disappearance of Crystal Rogers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman accused of stealing signs related to a missing Bardstown woman has been arrested. 

According to the Nelson County Jail, Crystal Maupin was arrested just before 4 p.m. Friday and charged with theft by unlawful taking. 

The family of Crystal Rogers, who was last seen on July 3, 2015, says Crystal Maupin was stealing signs asking for information in Rogers' disappearance, and is the girlfriend of Rogers' former boyfriend Brooks Houck. 

Houck was the only suspect named in the disappearance of the Bardstown mother.

A home owned by Houck's grandmother was searched less than a week ago by Kentucky State Police. It was unclear whether police were searching the home in relation to Rogers' disappearance, or the shooting death of her father, Tommy Ballard, who was shot while hunting on family property in November

Maupin was released on bond about 30 minutes after being booked into jail.
