Louisville man accused of killing his mother's dog with a crossbow

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he shot his mom's dog with an arrow, then threw the dog at her.
It happened Saturday on Barricks Road, near Hutcherson Drive in Louisville.
According to the arrest report, 43-year-old Michael Childress was inside a home while his mom was outside.
The report says Childress went to the backyard while holding a crossbow and said he was going hunting.
He then reportedly shot his mother's dog with an arrow and threw the dead dog at her.
Police believe Childress has a history of mental illness.
