LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Trinity Junior Stephen Herron still has plenty of time before his high school career is over but he apparently did not want to wait any longer to announce where he would go to school.
On Saturday, while driving back from an unofficial visit to Michigan, the four-star defensive end announced via twitter he would be attending UM. It's a huge get for the Wolverines as Herron is the number one player from his class in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Herron spoke with WDRB Monday on how he made his decision
“I went up there for the spring game and the fans knew my name, I wasn’t even committed at that point,” said Herron. "It felt like the whole entire community was behind me. It was crazy."
Herron knows there are lots of people who wanted him to go to UK or U Of L (both made offers) but in the end, he said he picked Michigan because it made him feel most at home.
“Louisville is a great school and Kentucky was in my top ten. Nothing against those schools (but) Michigan was best for me.”
