Indiana boy raises $1,300 for family of fallen officer through lemonade stand

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Indiana boy raised money for the family of a murdered police lieutenant, and officers have thanked him with a surprise of their own.

Police say 28-year-old Jason Brown murdered Southport Police Lieutenant Aaron Allan last Thursday. Allan was trying to help Brown escape from a crashed car, when Brown allegedly shot him 11 times while dangling upside-down in the overturned car. Brown has officially been charged with murder, as well as a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge.

Five-year-old Malachi Fronzak of Kokomo wanted to do something to help Allan's family, so he raised more than $1,300 through his lemonade stand.

After seeing Malachi's act of kindness on social media, Southport police officers wanted to surprise him. He got to ride inside a cruiser and got to test out the sirens.

In return, Malachi dished out free lemonade and hugs.
