LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Police searched Thursday for an Oldham County jail inmate they say walked away from a work detail in La Grange, Kentucky.

The inmate, 35-year-old Michael Ray Chadwell Jr., was weed-eating landscaping at the John Black Community Center where police said he walked away around 2 p.m. Thursday, according to Oldham County deputy jailer Jessica Childers.

Chadwell was believed to have been picked up in a car and traveling to Frankfort with a woman named Destiny Ritchie, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department on their Facebook page. Authorities notified police in the Frankfort area to watch for the pair.

Chadwell is serving a sentence for second degree robbery in Oldham County and is believed to be dangerous. He has other convictions for assault.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Chadwell or Ritchie is asked to call police.
