LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The grills were sizzling and the competition was fierce on Brownsboro Road Friday night.

It was all for the 9th annual EggFest at the Brownsboro Hardware store.

Dozens of Green Egg grills were going for the annual Chopped competition, judged in part by a familiar face at WDRB.

Morning anchor Sterling Riggs got to taste food from three of Louisville's top chefs.

The owner of Brownsboro Hardware said this started out as a small event, and grew from there.

"EggFest when we started was a little bitty event. We had nine eggs going. Tomorrow we'll have more than a hundred eggs going here at Brownsboro Hardware," Jim Lehrer said.

Last year, the event raised more than $20,000 for local charities.

EggFest continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Admission is $20 per person.
