LMPD investigating after fatal shooting at Outer Loop Walmart

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD is investigating after a fatal shooting at a local Walmart Saturday evening. 

MetroSafe supervisors told WDRB the shooting happened in the 4800 block of Outer Loop.

Officials said the calls started coming in around 7:30 p.m.

According to LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell, the victim was shot in a car in the parking lot of the Walmart.

No one else was in the car at the time. 

A person of interest had been apprehended at another location and is being interviewed, but no charges have been filed at this time. 

Police said there is no immediate threat to the public following the shooting. 

LMPD asks anyone who might have seen something at or around the scene to give them a call at 574-LMPD where you can remain anonymous.
