LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Northeast Christian Church took their morning services to school on Sunday.

Church volunteers landscaped 31 different school campuses in both Oldham and Jefferson Counties.

It's all part of the 'Love the Ville School Blitz,' which started five years ago.

Church members trimmed shrubs, pulled weeds, and put down fresh mulch to freshen up the school's exteriors.

"We want to show them love through our initiatives. Through Love the Ville, and be where the people are, and we want to let them know we care about them and love them," Pastor Jon Wren said.

Wren said it's the church's goal to go out to the people of the community and lead by example, rather than waiting for the community to come to church.
