LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An accused killer with a lengthy criminal history pleaded not guilty to murder during a Monday morning court appearance.

Curry was smiling as he walked up to the judge Monday morning. He pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Saturday night on Terril Lane, in the Bashford Manor neighborhood.

The victim's name has not been released yet.

According to court records, Curry has a long criminal background. In June, he pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges -- and court records show that on July 6, he violated that probation, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was later picked up on the warrant and arrested for charges including probation violation and possessing drugs.

Curry was released from jail about three weeks ago when District Court Judge Katie King put him on home incarceration. We don't know what led up to the shooting on Saturday, but police say Curry called 911.

Today, a judge said Curry is violent and dangerous. He's not allowed to talk to the victim's family or own any guns.

His bond is set at $100,000.

Curry is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
