LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have released the identity of a man who was gunned down in the parking lot of the Walmart on the Outer Loop over the weekend.

According to Jefferson County deputy coroner Anthony Wight, 20-year-old Deion Kennedy was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officials say they started receiving calls about the shooting just before 7:30 p.m. According to LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell, Kennedy was in a car in the parking lot outside the Walmart when he was shot.

No one else was in the car at the time.

Police detained and questioned someone they called "a person of interest" at another location, but there's no word yet on whether that person has been charged.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 502-574-LMPD. All calls are anonymous.
