Ramp reopens in Spaghetti Junction after semi carrying pigs overturned and caught fire

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A semi carrying livestock overturned in Spaghetti Junction in downtown Louisville on Wednesday morning.

The crash flipped the semi on its side and spilled a load of pigs headed to a processing plant.  The ramp from northbound Interstate 65 to eastbound Interstate 64 was closed much of the day.

Some of the 150 pigs were killed in the accident but others were left to roam the interstate until they could be rounded up. The surviving pigs were taken to a plant in Butchertown.

Officials said the driver of the semi was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered serious.
