LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The family of Tommy Ballard is offering a reward in an effort to get answers about his death.

Ballard, the father of missing Bardstown mother Crystal Rogers, was shot and killed in November of last year. He was shot in the chest while hunting on family property with his grandson.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information about his death. The money is being offered by Tommy's brothers Mike and Roger Ballard.

"Hopefully, somebody will come forward on it," Mike Ballard said. "I do believe there's somebody out there that does know something."

At the time of his death, Ballard and his family had been searching for answers in the disappearance of his daughter Crystal, who was last seen on July 3, 2015.

"He was looking every day, not giving up," Mike Ballard said. "Maybe he was close to finding something, or maybe they just felt like he wasn't going to quit."

Kentucky State Police say Ballard's case is still being treated as a death investigation, and officials have not ruled Ballard's death as a homicide. His family does not believe it was an accident. They say it was murder.

"That's what we feel, 100 percent, that it is," Mike Ballard said. "We don't feel that it's a death investigation."

Sherry Ballard told WDRB News in December that her husband said he was being followed days before his death. The Ballard brothers said the same thing in an interview Wednesday. They also said they believe the person responsible for Rogers' disappearance is connected to Tommy Ballard's death.

"I knew that the same person(s) that were responsible for Crystal's disappearance was the same ones involved in this," Roger Ballard said.

Last month, Kentucky State Police searched the Bardstown home belonging to the grandmother of Brooks Houck. He was the boyfriend of Crystal Rogers and so far is the only suspect named in her disappearance. Houck is believed to be the last person to see Rogers alive. He has not been charged in connection with her disappearance.

The Ballards said the search renewed hope that the police had not given up on both cases. They family said they won't give up and believe justice is coming.

"We're not going to stop on it," Mike Ballard said. "We're going to keep looking, keep searching for answers. It's not going to be today, it's probably not going to be tomorrow, but I believe it is coming."

A separate, $70,000 reward is being offered for information about Rogers' disappearance.
