Police say Louisville man shot victim in the head

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he shot a man in the head.

Layfierre Mitchell, 47, was arrested on Friday at his home in the 1700 block of Bolling Avenue near South 17th Street. Police records state that the shooting happened March 22, 2017, on Bolling Avenue.

Authorities say the victim was taken to U of L Hospital for treatment.

Police say the victim identified Mitchell as the person who shot him.

Mitchell is charged with first-degree assault and is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $75,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on August 22.
