The pool goes to the dogs for the Dippin' Dogs event

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's the 6th annual Dippin' Dogs & Chopper Slam Jump Fest at the Bardstown City Pool.

It happens on Friday August 18 and Saturday August 19.

It begins at 6 p.m. on Friday with the bourbon city dock jumpers air wave (long jump) competition in diving pool.

New to Friday evening's line-up, admission will include the chance to hunt for custom painted dog themed Nelson County Rocks.

Saturday events are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes the dog swim, where dogs will enjoy swimming in the Olympic and puppy pools, the dog olympics, dock jumping competition (long jump, high jump and speed retrieve), and vendor booths.

General Admission is $4 for humans, $10 for dogs. All the money raised goes directly to support four local non-profit organizations: Barktown Rescue, the Bourbon City Bark Park, the Humane Society of Nelson County & Pawsville. Their mission is to give dogs a better life, a loving family and a place to run, socialize & have fun.
