LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested two people authorities say fled from police in a stolen vehicle, and crashed into a house.

Joel Gruber and Lieth Perez-Olivera were arrested early Wednesday morning on Rural Way.

An arrest report states that an officer tried to make a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Shepherdsville Road, near Newburg Road and Buechel Bank Road.

Police say the vehicle hit an officer's car while trying to speed away.

According to police, the car ran over a stop sign, before crashing into a house that had two people inside. Police say there was also major damage to the car.

Authorities say Gruber and Perez-Olivera then ran from police in different directions and went through several yards.

Investigators say one officer was hurt during the pursuit.

After Gruber was arrested, he was found with marijuana in his pocket during a search, according to police.

Gruber and Perez-Olivera are both charged with fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment and criminal mischief.

Gruber faces an additional charge of receiving stolen property.

Both are being held at Louisville Metro Corrections and are expected in court on Thursday.
