LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Several schools in the Jefferson County Public Schools district will be unable to view the solar eclipse outside.

The district says it's because they did not purchase or get solar eclipse glasses.

JCPS says it's up to each school and principal to decide if students will watch the eclipse on Monday.

Several schools including Jeffersontown Elementary bought glasses that were later part of an Amazon recall.

The Jeffersontown City Council just voted last night to help that school. The council will use $225 of its council funds to pay for new glasses.
