Puppy and kitten strike up unlikely friendship at Kentucky Humane Society

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An unlikely friendship began at the Kentucky Humane Society.

King, an 8-month-old puppy, just had his leg amputated. Afterward, he was whining for attention.

At the exact same time, a 4-week-old kitten named Laila Ali started meowing for love.

KHS officials said Laila Ali is very weak from anemia and needs around-the-clock care. The vets decided to see whether the two could find some comfort in each other, and now, they're best buds.

There's no word, though, on when they will be available for adoption.
