OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hot yoga, kitten yoga, even rabbit yoga. A new, local company has the newest spin on yoga: paddle board yoga.
Louisville-based Endless Summer Paddle Company opened about a year and a half ago, offering stand-up paddle boarding for all skill sets.
"What we really wanted to do was give people access to our waterways in a variety of different ways through the use of stand-up paddle boarding. So, we teach people how to use the boards, we do rentals with the boards and we also do SUP yoga which is really fun," says Mimi Hahn of Endless Summer Paddle Company.
Hahn said paddle boarding takes yoga to the next level, with studies showing that it's 20 percent more core work than floor yoga.
"It requires a lot of intentionality so that you're very certain about where you place your foot, you're very certain about how much pressure you're putting into the foot and you're prepared to maybe fall off because the board gives you that sort of feedback," Hahn said.
