UPDATE: Child abducted from North Carolina found safe in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An 8-year-old girl is safe after an Amber Alert was issued for her Sunday in North Carolina, according to police.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol issued the alert for Trinity Lakin McGraw after they say she was abducted by Patrick Ryan McGraw.

They were believed to be headed to Louisville, where they were both located Sunday evening, according to the Stokes County Sheriff's Office. 

Patrick McGraw was taken into custody.
