I-65 reopened after crash involving semi

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - 3 lanes of I-65 north near the Louisville airport are back open after a crash involving a semi.

It happened near Fern Valley Road and Grade Lane about 1:30 Monday morning.

I-65 north and south were closed after different times Monday morning while police conducted their investigation.

As of 6:15 a.m., one lane of I-65 north is still closed as police cleanup the crash.

Metrosafe and Trimarc initially told WDRB the crash was fatal.

However, LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell says one person was found in the semi and is expected to be ok. Mitchell also says the semi was carrying books when it crashed.
