LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Radcliff Police say a patient at a rehab hospital became so irate after staff refused to give him an e-cigarette that he broke a man's ribs.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place just after 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System facility at 3909 S. Wilson Road in Radcliff.

Police say 43-year-old Robert Chencharick was enrolled in a drug rehabilitation program at the facility, when he was told he wasn't allowed to have an e-cigarette.

As a result, police say he pulled the fire alarm and tried to escape the building. When a man tried to stop him, they fought, and the victim suffered two broken ribs, according to police.

Chencharick was arrested and charged with second-degree assault. He is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
