LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville City FC continued to fire on all cylinders, blowing out the Harrisburg City Islanders 5-0 at Louisville Slugger Field. It was the second 5-0 victory in the team's three-game win streak and moved them back atop the standings in the USL Eastern Division.
Louisville City has 44 points, the same as the Charlotte Independence, but the boys in purple have the tiebreaker with a plus-23 goal differential to plus 17 for Charlotte. And they have built much of that differential by outscoring its last three opponents, 13-1.
Mark-Anthony Kaye started the scoring in the 11th minute, Ilija Ilic converted just a couple of minutes later and Ilic helped set up Paolo DelPiccolo to close out the first half scoring. Niall McCabe and Sean Totsch foun the back of the net in the second half.
Harrisburg defeated LouCity 1-0 on June 24th, but didn't get a shot on goal in this one.
Louisville CIty will bid for a fourth straight win when they host Orlando City B Saturday at 7:30.
