Good Samaritan goes after thief who stole from blind man in California

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a good Samaritan stepped in to help when a thief targeted a blind man.

Bob Cole says he was robbed at a Modesto, California, bus stop in broad daylight. Cole is legally blind, with some sight, but his disability is obvious.

He was checking his phone by holding it close to his eye when he says it was snatched out of his hands by a man on a bike. Minutes later, a woman approached Cole who said she witnessed the whole thing and went after the thief herself.

She was able to get his phone back.

"For others out there who, I don't even know to take the time to do that, it makes me very thankful," said Cole. "That's the way I want to be toward others, and that's they way I teach the boys as well."

In this case, Cole says the good outweighs the bad.
