LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police welcomed 41 new recruits to its ranks on Friday.

After six months of classroom time and practical training, the recruits graduated this morning at Iroquois Amphitheater.

Eighteen members of the class are college graduates. Ten more of the recruits are veterans representing the Army, Navy and Coast Guard.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer was there to administer the oath of office to LMPD's newest members.

Nine graduates are former corrections officers, and five more previously served as law enforcement officers.
