Police say Louisville man stabbed and raped victim

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville man authorities say stabbed and raped a woman.

Louis Ramirez, 30, was arrested Saturday at his home in the 5000 block of Rustic Way, near Rangeland Road.

According to an arrest report, the victim told police that Ramirez stabbed her in the head with a steak knife and also hit, kicked and choked her. Police say Ramirez then raped the victim.

Authorities say the victim waited until Ramirez fell asleep and then ran away and called police.

Officials say after Ramirez was read his Miranda rights, he admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim.

Ramirez is charged with first-degree rape and second-degree assault.

He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $50,000 cash bond.
