SHIVELY, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Shively Police officer has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing after he was placed under investigation for shooting a suspect in April.

Lt. Col. Josh Myers said Monday afternoon that Officer Kolter was cleared earlier this month of any criminal wrongdoing after an investigation was conducted by Louisville Metro Police's Public Integrity Unit.

Shively Police say Officer Chad Kolter responded to a call in the 4000 block of Valley View Drive, near Crums Lane.

Authorities say Kolter shot William Bordeau twice, after he was found behind a home with a weapon.

Myers also said an investigation conducted by Shively Police showed Kolter did not violate any policies.

Kolter has returned to work, according to Myers.
