Elizabethtown woman accused of criminally abusing 5-year-old autistic boy

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Elizabethtown woman was arrested Monday afternoon, days after police say she abused a 5-year-old autistic boy.

According to an arrest warrant, the crime took place on Thursday, Nov. 2. An officer with the Elizabethtown Police Department says that just after 6 a.m., 36-year-old Lisa Davis hit the boy in his face and left hip area, causing bruising. 

Police say he also suffered a scratch on the left side of his nose, close to his eye, and bruising on his left cheek, "consistent with a hand print from being smacked."

Davis also allegedly slammed the child to the ground, "with extreme force."

A warrant as issued for Davis' arrest on Monday, Nov. 6, and she was taken into custody on Monday, Nov. 13. She's charged with third-degree criminal abuse. 

Davis is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
