LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Elizabethtown man has been arrested and charged with murder after the body of a man was found behind a shopping center in Elizabethtown on Tuesday.

The body of 26-year-old Anthony Gullotto of Radcliff, Kentucky, was found shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday behind Lake Shore Center, which includes the Elizabethtown Peddlers Mall. The businesses are located on North Dixie Highway near the Elizabethtown Bypass.

Officer John Thomas said an autopsy performed Wednesday morning confirmed Gullotto died from multiple gunshot wounds.

"A woman who was cleaning the parking lot at Lake Shore Plaza found a male subject lying on his back behind the building," Thomas said.

According to a spokesman for the Elizabethtown Police Department, 20-year-old Austen Green was arrested Wednesday night.

Police say Green admitted to the shooting. He allegedly told officers that he and Gullotto were behind the business at Lakeshore Plaza, when Gullotto tried to punch him and rob him. At that point, Green told police he pulled out a handgun and shot Gullotto four times. He said he then drove away from the scene, tossing the gun out the window of his car.

Green said he returned to the scene later to make sure Gullotto was dead and collect the shell casings that were left there. According to police, Green said he threw the shell casings into the garbage at his home.

He has since been charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. Green is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
