LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An undercover investigation leads to a Louisville man being charged with allegedly distributing child pornography. 

48-year-old Timothy Scott Acker was in court on Thursday.  A judge released him on home incarceration and ordered him to have no access to the internet.

Acker was targeted by the Kentucky State Police Internet Crimes Against Children unit, after discovering him allegedly uploading images of child sexual exploitation.  

Officers identified Acker's IP address and executed a search warrant on his home on Wednesday night.

Police seized his computer and found more than 20 files of child sexual exploitation. The device was taken to the KSP forensic lab for further investigation.

Acker faces a charge of distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor.  The charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. 

He is scheduled to be back in court January 2.
