Inmate recaptured after allegedly fleeing Hall of Justice, stealing car
An inmate has been recaptured after authorities say he walked away from custody at the Jefferson County Hall of Justice.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An inmate has been recaptured after authorities say he walked away from custody at the Jefferson County Hall of Justice.
According to a news release from Louisville Metro Corrections, 26-year-old Kyle Boyd was being transferred from Louisville Metro Corrections to the Hall of Justice for enrollment in the Home Incarceration Program.
Previously, Boyd had been arrested on a bench warrant on charges of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
Authorities say Boyd left the Hall of Justice before his HIP enrollment was completed. After leaving, he allegedly stole a motor vehicle a few blocks away from the Hall of Justice. He was recaptured a few hours after his escape.
Boyd now faces additional charges of felony vehicle theft and felony escape. He is now being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
